Taking portraits is a time for me to capture a moment. I do it for the challenge and for the reward. The challenge is not just getting a technically correct image; I could teach anyone to do that practically. The challenge is getting a piece of your personality along with that image. The reward is knowing that I achieved that goal and that I gave someone something that they can hold as memory for a lifetime.
I see photography (fotographee) as my creative outlet. I have ideas and fotographee is the only medium that allows me to put them into a physical/visual form to share. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion to capture such amazing moments from families, accomplishments, to pregnancies, engagements, and more. For me, fotographee is a discovery and it is the archaeology of emotion. My fotographee is how I perceive and present my world to you.
Fotographee changes the way I see things. It’s actually quite an incredible transformation to experience. I take my fotographee as a gift that I must use as my creative outlet. Anyone can take a camera and press the button; however that’s where you start. But learning to become a great Fotographer is a serious challenge. You will always learn something new, have new directions to explore, and new challenges to face. And that’s a good thing! This is a pursuit that I will never be bored with. My unique perspective can go further than just showing people how I see a scene.
Fotographee also lets me express myself—my opinions and beliefs. I do this by choosing what I Fotograph, and how I represent it. This aspect of my Fotographee is ever-changing as I grow and create something new.View all features
Fotographee is a fantastic story telling resource. Whether I’m telling a story with one image, a sequence, a series, or an entire portfolio, the possibilities are endless for me to see.View all features
The World Through My Lens
As I shoot, I learn more about me, what I value, and how I see the world. Life is filled with “big moments”. Births, graduations, weddings, first steps—these are all moments that should be documented for family history.View all features
Who is L.A.?
EL AY fuh-TAH-gruh-fee
I have a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Computer Information Systems, I have been in the IT industry for over 9 years. My passion is photography and graphic designs. I hope To become a Life Coach for at risk teens,To open up a 24 hour gymnasium to keep kids off the streets, To open up a shelter for men who have fallen short and get them back on their feet and To continue to be a good friend, husband and father.
Fotographee involves a lot of introspection over the course of a career. The deeper I get, the more I realize that it’s all about what I am interested in, how I feel about it, and what I want to say to the people who view my work.
Money is not a motivating factor. Money doesn’t thrill me or make me shoot better. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of benefits to having money. I’m just happy to have a camera in my hand. My motivation comes from capturing amazing photographs. For the first 2 years, I willing took pictures for FREE.
I think it’s important to always keep professional and surround yourself with good people, work hard, and be nice to EVERYONE. It is important to treat every client with a professional manner. Doesn’t matter if they are your friend, family, or someone you just met.
